Assignment DescriptionFor this assignment, I was instructed to follow a step-by-step process to create 2 pop art photos in Adobe Photoshop. I used layers, Guides, Resize Canvas, Threshold dialogs, and anchor layers to create these photos. Original PhotoPop Art #1Pop Art #2What I learnedOver the course of this assignment, I learned a lot about the basics of photoshop and how to use it to effectively manipulate an image. I struggled at first with some of the threshold dialogue but the more I used it the easier it was to manage. The ruler guides really helped me to position my photos on the canvas easily and I had a lot of fun getting creative with colors and effects for pop art #2.

For this particular assignment, I was instructed to take pictures using the eleven composition techniques we took notes on and learned about in class. We were required to showcase our best photo of each technique, making sure the method used to take the photo was easily identifiable. Here are my eleven best photo samples: Color = "Orange Flower"Perspective = "Blue Windows"Lines = "Lines Intersecting Sunrise"Rule of Thirds = "Girl Taking Photos of a BrickWall"Space = "Lonely American Flag"Framing = "Fireplace"Texture = "Dewy Grass"Pattern = "Wall of Awards"Balance = "Girl and Sunrise"Symmetry = "Flags in Hallway"Depth of Field = "Hallway"Reflection:Overall, I enjoyed this assignment. Some of my favorite techniques were color and perspective. I had a lot of fun discovering new angles to take pictures from. While some methods were more difficult than others to master, I feel that I now have a lot more constructive knowledge about composition.
Hello! My name is Anna Weaver and I am a senior at Saline High School. I have a loving family and a very old but very cute cat named paws. Some of my interests include running cross country, reading, hanging out with my friends, and shopping. I have never really experimented with digital photography before, so this blog serves to show my journey to become a better, more knowledgeable photographer. I took this class to expand my knowledge of the world of digital photography and to hopefully learn some skills that I can apply when I leave this class. It also doubles as a technology credit, so that was convenient for me as well.
